The members of the Benalmádena Doyang Center martial arts school succeed wherever they go. Last Saturday, a total of 16 Benalmadan competitors participated in the Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz) in the Tatami Sport National Kick Boxing Open, the last event of the year in which the Benalmadan school won 22 medals.
Specifically, athletes have brought to Benalmádena 12 gold medals and a dozen silver, a resounding success with which they close a great year for this sport in our city.
The Tatami Sport National Open was held this Saturday at the Ramón Velázquez Sports Pavilion in El Puerto de Santa María. Is about a contact sporting event of the highest category that, in addition, has a solidarity tinge of struggle for these Christmas dates, with the collection of toys for Caritas.
It should be noted the excellent organization of the Andalusian Federation of Kick Boxingand the work of the refereeing director Paco González, who is from Benalmádena.
This sporting event has led the city of Cadiz to an unprecedented exhibition of Tatami Sport, one of the disciplines that has been experiencing the greatest popularity in recent times and that closes the competitions this year in 2021 with this appointment.
The attendees enjoyed this sport from the stands in its three competition modalities: Point Fighting, Light Contact and Kick Light and the best athletes from both the Andalusian geography and the national territory, who have competed hard to obtain first place.
The Benalmádena have already left the flag high in the European Taekwondo Championship in La Nucía, where Laura Tomé led the podium as European champion and achieved the third place in team combatand several of his schoolmates demonstrated their professionalism by falling short of the medal.
