Benalmádena blends traditions with foreign neighbors to enjoy Christmas

The XII International Christmas Festival, which will be held in the Plaza de la Mezquita throughout the weekend from 1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., is as usual a success with the public. Taking care of the sanitary recommendations, neighbors of different nationals have gathered in the Plaza de la Mezquita to live together and enjoy a joint activity in which to get to know each other more.

Countries such as Colombia, Chile, Ukraine, Morocco, Argentina, the United States, Pakistan, Mexico, Italy and France participate in this edition. Although each year more nationalities have been added, this edition has had to limit participation for health reasons due to the pandemic.

Visitors will be able to taste typical foods of each region, learn how Christmas is celebrated in different corners of the world and enjoy various concerts with traditional music from the participating countries.

In the three days of the international festival, there will bea special visit from Santa Claus who seems to have already made Benalmádena his second home and that he does not want to miss one of the local festivities on the Christmas agenda. The little ones will be able to enjoy this endearing character on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., while on Saturday and Sunday it will pass through the festival from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., according to the promotional posters of the event.
