The Plaza Andalucía in Benalmádena Pueblo has been the scene this morning of the act of tribute to several citizens, users of the social centers and active participation of the city, an emotional recognition that is part of the programming of the third Mayor’s Week. Specifically, the honorees – elected by the boards of directors of the four centers – have been Ana Florido González, José Carmona Ruiz, Manuel Alcaide Domínguez, Encarnación Cabrera González, Luisa Romero, Manuel Núñez, Josefina Tirado, and Dolores Romero Sánchez.
For his part, the mayor, Víctor Navas, stressed that “you are the architects of the many advances made in recent decades, as well as an example and reference for future generations, and he congratulated you for this.”
Regarding the agenda programmed to celebrate the Week of the Elderly, today a great poetry marathon will be held starting at 12 noon at the Casa de la Cultura. The finishing touch to the Mayor’s Week will be put on by a solidarity catwalk, under the title Hearts in motion, which has been organized in collaboration with the associations that have charity shops in the municipality. This act will take place from 6:00 p.m. in the Plaza de la Mezquita.
