Free workshop to connect art and philosophy in the educational process

TheArroyo de la Miel Public Library will host on the 23rd and 30th of this month a training workshop aimed at both mothers and fathers como a profesionales vinculados con la infancia y la adolescencia. Under the title of Educating a philosophical look with art, this activity focuses specifically on creative capacities, and will be taught by Laura Brinkmann and María José Coronado, from the Huertos Filosóficos collective.

According to municipal sources, participants will be given a reflection to understand the importance of creativity in the formation of their own thinking, the conquest of freedom, curiosity and amazement in childhood and adolescence and also, tools to connect art and philosophy from the pedagogical perspective of the educational project called Philosophy for Boys and Girls, endorsed by UNESCO since, according to this UN agency, “helps to build people who think for themselves and, therefore, freer. People who, in a context of constant speed and cascade of information, will have their own criteria to act under the protection of personal ethical values ​​and with the help of a thought creative, so necessary to find solutions to the new personal and social challenges of the present and to dream better futures “.

In the words of the Councilor for Culture and Citizen Participation, Pablo Centella, the objective of this workshop -which is one of the initiatives chosen within the Participatory Budgets– “is to make the educational community aware of the importance of philosophy for the education of children and adolescents, contributing to the creation of a critical sense that facilitates the analysis of all the information that reaches them, with control of their emotions and promoting values ​​such as companionship or equality “.

Educating a philosophical view with art will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday the 23rd and the next day the 30th.
