Last minute hotel reservations raise the occupancy level on the Easter weekend

The Association of Hotel Entrepreneurs of the Costa del Sol (Aehcos) assures that last minute reservations, largely due to the good weather that is approaching during the Easter weekend, has made the hotel occupancy figures between Wednesday and Sunday -which will reach an average of 75.90%- are better than those forecast a few days ago, when it was barely believed to be close to 70%.

There is no doubt -highlights the president of Aehcos, José Luque- “that the good weather and the good development of Holy Week has meant that the occupancy levels are better than what we expected at first. It will be a good bridge and we hope it will mark the beginning of a clear recovery of tourism”.

Although the data is encouraging, it should be remembered that fifteen points are still far from the data reached on these same dates in 2019, according to the Association’s Executive Committee.

Regarding the origin of the tourists, Aehcos points out that for the days between April 13 and 18, 55% of them are of national origin.

Occupation by municipalities

During the bridge that begins today, some municipalities such as Ronda will hang the full sign in their establishments, since hotel occupancy exceeds 95%.

The Costa del Sol coast is another of the most demanded destinations. Thus, Marbella once again rises as one of the most desired municipalities and it is expected that an occupancy rate of 86.09% will be reached. On the other side of the coast, Nerja heads the occupancy ranking, with a demand of 80%.

They are followed by the capital (78.34%), Estepona (78.05%), Benalmádena (76.10%) and Torremolinos (74.41%).
