The general secretary of the PSOE of Benalmádena and mayor of the municipality, Víctor Navas, accompanied by a wide representation of the socialist municipal group, has made today in the Casa del Pueblo a balance of the municipal management during 2021, and has pointed out some of the forecasts of municipal managementby 2022.
Regarding the management carried out last year, Navas highlighted that “we made a commitment to increase public spending through the implementation of employmentplans thanks to which more than 250 Benalmadenses were able to find a job, guarantee aid to groups and associations such as AFAB, Cudeca, AECC, AFESOL or ABAD; or direct aidfor a global amount of more than 1.5 million euros to the hotel plant, micro-SMEs and the self-employed ”.
In addition, he stated that in 2021 “we laid the foundations to guarantee economic growth during 2022, also obtaining last year the best employment data for Benalmádena since 2006″.
From the PSOE, they assure that they have promoted these initiatives “from the conviction that it was necessary to reactivate the productive fabric of the city after a year of pandemic, having to face an unprecedented situation for any municipal government, solving the challenge not without difficulties, but with satisfaction ”.
In this way, Navas explained that “thanks to the efforts made by the local Administration, we have managed to move forward the projects that have made it possible to recover employment data and contribute to the economic reactivation of Benalmádena.”
Regarding the present 2022, the first mayor announced that “we have planned a significant increase in public spending”, allocating 30 million euros to investments for projects such as the expansion of a lane on Avenida del Cosmos, the remodeling of avenues Antonio Machado and Alay, the fencing and enclosure of the Albaytar park, asphalt and steel plans in the three population centers and a large number of works that will involve, in addition to an important improvement for Benalmádena, generation of employment and wealth in the city, as advanced Ole Benalmádenain the interviewwith the mayor published on the last day of last year.
“We are also going toput the accent on housing politics , with initiatives such as the acquisition of real estate to allocate them to social rent, or the creation of a stock exchange to acquire private land that will allow us to build new VPOs in the future“, he has advanced.
Navas also announced that “we are going to make the largest investment in the Delegation of Operational Services in the last decade, with the acquisition of new vehicles for its fleet, such as sweepers and trucks, as well as providing a new inventory of materials and tools to ensure that they perform their work in the best possible way ”.
“Our Government is fully aware of the current crisis situation caused by the pandemic, which we face in the best conditions after achieving in just three years of government to be the City Council of a municipality with more than 20,000 inhabitants that faster clean up its public coffers”, has stood out.
Finally, Navas has lamented “the total lack of support in municipal management by the PP that, far from carrying out a responsible work, has opted for a destructive opposition and without a single proposal, abandoning the municipal government in its large projects of town”.
