Professionals in the hospitality sector are trained as drug prevention agents

The Councilor for Social Welfare, Alicia Laddaga, has offered a press conference at the La Fonda hospitality school to report on the development of the Responsible Service program in the municipality.

This action is carried out in Benalmádena within the Cities Against Drugs Program, which is developed through a collaboration agreement between the Health Council of the Andalusian Government and the Benalmadense City Council.

Responsible Serviceis a National Program for the Prevention of Drug Addiction in the Hospitality Sector, promoted by the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality (National Plan on Drugs) and the Spanish Federation of Hotels and Restaurants (FEHR).

Its objectives are, on the one hand, to equip people who are going to work in the hospitality sector to function as health agents and, on the other, to reduce the risks associated with drug use that may occur in the premises. of hospitality, promoting in this way the quality of leisure in the municipality.

The 30 studentswho are currently training at the La Fonda Hospitality School have participated in today’s training session.

The contents that are worked on are the following: basic information on alcohol, tobacco and other drugs and the reduction of the risks associated with their consumption, the concept of “responsible dispensing of alcohol”, guidelines for action in conflict situations in the context of leisure and “The Code of Good Professional Practices in the Hospitality Sector”.

“Ultimately, with this training, what is intended is to promote the implementation of a series of good professional practices that promote the enjoyment of safe and quality leisure in the municipality,” the mayor stressed.

“From this Consistory we want to thank the good disposition and welcome shown from the first moment by the La Fonda Hospitality School when offering this training to its students,” the councilor thanked.
