Rocío Martín is one of the protagonists of the documentary of the Spanish Badminton Federation

The 14 yearold athlete from the Benalmádena Badminton Club Rocío Martín, is one of the protagonists of the documentary with which the Spanish Badminton Federation is giving visibility to the work of these Spanish athletes. 

Specifically, Rocío Martínparticipates in an episode of this serial that has been dedicated toWomen and Sports and that has beenrecorded at the Andalusian Center for Sports Technification (CAETD) in Huelva.

The Andalusian Specialized Sports Technification Centers (CAETD) are facilities whose objective is the technical improvement and comprehensive training of athletesfor a specific sport.

In this way, they are responsible for the training of sports talents through a program aimed at the development and multilateral improvement of the capacities identified in selected school-age athletes, in order to build the foundations for future performance.

They also focus on the improvement of sports talents through a program aimed at the specialization and development of critical factors of sports performance in school-age athletes with the aim of translating them into high achievements in national and international competitions.

And, finally, these centers promote a program for the development and maintenance of athletes’ performance. It is a program aimed at improving and / or maintaining the athletic performance of minors -although they also have adults by way of sparring as support- with the intention that these schoolchildren in the future become part of the center of high performance in Madrid.

It should be remembered that The player from the Benalmadense Club has been called up by the Spanish team to participate in the U-17 for the Spanish U17 Open, which will be held in Benalmádena from February 11 to 15. Furthermore, the fourteen-year-old girl,managed to win gold in the Spanish Under-15 Championship in Ponteareas (Pontevedra), which was held from November 26 to 28.

Rocío Martín participated in the Spanish badminton championship in the individual modality and in the women’s doubles. In the first one she managed to enter the final draw, but did not get on the podium, while in the women’s doubles, together with Macarena Fernández from the Mercapinturas Almería Badminton Club, they led the podium and rose as Spanish champions with the well-deserved gold.
