Rodríguez Guy brings to the public the technique of relief tracing and recycled paper with some innovative artistic workshops

The Exhibition Center will host during this month of October and November a series of creative workshops on artistic techniques that will be taught by the artist Pablo Rodríguez Guy, within the Plan for the revitalization and social return of the cultural spaces of the municipality, carried out by the Area of Culture of city council.

The Exhibition Center hosts until December 50 years of light and colour, an anthological exhibition of this multifaceted artist, -who also coordinates the workshop Read Art in the Arroyo de la Miel Public Library-, and this training initiative is raised as a complement to the artistic show.

The three creative workshops will be free and stand, in the artist’s words, as well as an addition to the exhibition, “as an aid to understand and practice contemporary art in a personal way”. Its theme will be very specific and, the first of them will focus on the elaboration of artistic works with recycled paper, the second will be an initiation to intaglio engraving, and the third will delve into embossing or tracing-relief, a widely used technique by Rodríguez Guy in his works and on which he has focused part of his artistic research.

Each workshop will consist of three two-hour sessions and will have 12 places. As reported by municipal sources, the recycled paper workshop will be held on October 22, 23 and 24; the intaglio engraving will be on November 5, 6 and 7; and the tracing-relief on November 13, 20 and 27.

For his part, the Councilor for Culture, Pablo Centella, stressed that the Benalmádena Exhibition Center “is one of the best exhibition spaces in the province and it is used to organizing activities that, in parallel to temporary exhibitions, are programmed with the same informative purpose and as an indispensable complement to them.”

People interested in participating in any of these three workshops can reserve their place directly at the Exhibition Center, located at 33 Antonio Machado avenue, by calling 952562820or by sending an email to ce@benalmadena.es.
