This Friday, November 19, will be held the act that will culminate the calendar of events organized by the Arroyo de la Miel Public Library to commemorate the centenary of the death of the writerEmilia Pardo Bazán.

In the words of the Councilor for Culture, Pablo Centella, “Emilia Pardo Bazán was the best Spanish novelist of the 19th century, and the library has organized a series of events throughout the year to remember and value her figure and literary legacy.”

Centella has valued the role that thelibrary plays within the cultural world of Benalmádena, “essential in the recovery of the cultural pulse of the city so that it becomes a benchmark within the Costa del Sol”.

For her part, the library assistant, Maite Ortigosa, explained that atribute to Emilia Pardo Bazán will be held on Friday “as a culmination of all the activities we have carried out this year to commemorate the centenary of the author’s death.”

“The tribute will consist of a theatrical performance, a monologue by the actress Olga López de Lerma, who will take a tour of the author’s work and life,” he detailed.

It is a family activity and from the library, they have encouraged citizens “to join us this Friday the 19th at 7:00 pm.”

In addition to the decorative canvas on the façade of the library, Pardo Bazán’s centenary has also given rise to initiatives such as marking commemorative pages, reading lists and reading clubs have focused part of their activity on works by the author.
