TheBenalmádena Chess Club has just made official the signing of the Marbella chess player Claudia Hernández Téllez, from the Metro club and who comes to reinforce the local team for the coming seasons.
This young player is one of the strongest promises of national chess,who despite her young age came in fifth position in the last absolute Spanish Championshipheld in Linares, showing that she already belongs to the elite of women’s chess in our country.
Claudia, 15 years old, who trains daily with an intense work plan for each and every one of the facets of chess, combines this sport with her studies in 4th year of ESO, where she has brilliant grades because her dream is to study Medicine and be neurologist in the future.
Following in his footsteps, his little sister Ada has also just joined the Benalmádena club, where he will continue his training and will surely reap many successes.
The president of Club Benalmádena, Daniel Hidalgo, celebrates the signing of this player: “It is a pride that this young chess player has opted for us to continue her brilliant progression. She is one of the best players in Spain, with an enviable track record, not in vain was she fifth in the last absolute championship in Spain and absolute runner-up in Andalusia. He has already represented our country in European and World Cups, so talking about the promise of chess is an understatement, since it is already a reality”.
For his part, Joaquín Villazón, Councilor for Sports, values the incorporation of the young chess player: “In our municipality we have always promoted and encouraged women’s sports, so the signing of this great player fills us with satisfaction for everything she represents and carries. We will be supporting her and following her, it is a pride that this girl bears the name of Benalmádena wherever she competes”.
