The Benalmádena Diving Club present on the podium of the Spanish Spearfishing Championship

The Andalusian Selection of Diving and Spearfishing, formedby the clubs CRISED (Almería) and Club Buceo Benalmádena (Málaga), It was classified in third place in the Spanish Championship of Clubsby Autonomy of this sports discipline, which was played in the city of Guía de Isora, Tenerife, on November 27, and in which 15 teams representing eight autonomous communities participated. .

The Andalusian team, made up of divers Sergio Castillo, Jesús Castillo and Daniel Durán, won thebronze medal after achieving a total of thirteen captures and taking the largest piece, a corvina that gave 2.9 kilos in the official weigh-in.

Regarding the VII International Open of Tenerife, held the next day in the waters of the town of Isora, specifically in the so-called Punta del Camisón, the diver Sergio Castillo was partof the Spanish team, which was proclaimed tournament champion with 17 captures with a total weight of 15.6 kilos.

For his part, the athlete from Benalmádena Daniel Durán was part of a mixed team that finished in third position and thus obtained the bronze medal.

The Puerto Deportivo de Benalmádena, sponsor of the Club of local Diving, through its managing director, Manuel Jiménez, he has valued very positively the role played by Benalmádena athletes, whom he has congratulated, and has underlined the “good image of our municipality” that they offer in the sports forums they attend.

The Spanish Federation of this sports discipline has recalled that both competitions had the direct involvement of the City Council of Guía de Isora (Tenerife), through its Department of Sports and the Municipal School of Nautical Sports, as well as the collaboration of the Tenerife Federation of Underwater Activities (FETAS).
