The benalmadense Rocío Martín wins the Spanish Under 15 Championship in women’s doubles

Benalmadan athletes are on a roll. Last weekend, the Benalmádena Badminton Club, -founded in 1986 and with more than 250 regular practitioners-, is in luck with thegold and bronze medals achieved by two of its young athletes: Rocío Martín and Alejandro Béjar.

These new milestones for Benalmadena sport were achieved at the Spanish Under-15 Championship in Ponteareas (Pontevedra), which was held from November 26 to 28. In this sporting event, the local Club has left the name of Benalmádena very high, with the gold medalawarded by the young Rocío Martínand the bronzemedal that Alejandro Béjar achieved, in the Sub 15 category of doubles, female and male, respectively.

According to theCD Bádminton Benalmádena coach, Moisés Herrero, Rocío Martín participated in the Spanish badminton championship in the individual modality and in the women’s doubles. In the first, she managed to enter the final draw, but did not get on the podium, while in the women’s doubles, together with Macarena Fernández from the Mercapinturas Almería Badminton Club, they led the podium and rose as Spanish champions with the well-deserved gold.

Likewise, the BenalmadenseAlejandro Béjarin the men’s individual modality did not reach the podium, but he did manage to enter the final table, and it has been in men’s doubles, wheretogether with Pepe Fernández, from the Huelva Badminton Club, he has brought the broce for Benalmádena.
