The Festival of Artists for the SDGs brings mural art, youth dance and experimental theater to Benalmádena

The first Festival of Artists for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)  which is held in  Benalmádena   until next December 8, continues today Saturday at the Innova building, where from 11.00 hoursyou  can enjoy the mural art of AMAS, Metropolitan Association of Social Artists. It is a group of seven interdisciplinary women from Malaga who make different artistic compositions, mainly urban art. References to gender equality, the environment and different social causes abound in her compositions.

At night, at 8:00 p.m., an exhibition of youth dance promoted by the Benalmadense companyDanzamaníawas scheduled at the Casa de la Cultura, but the event has been canceled today. The organization has stated that “they greatly appreciate the commitment and effort on the part of Óscar and the young people who have prepared this performance, but the characteristics of this event and the increase in Covid cases registered in recent weeks, makes us rethink this event and its viability at the time of carrying it out “.

At 8:45 pm, the experimental and interactive theaterwill take over from the hand ofPepa Gallegos, founder of the project TeatroEnCuestion, social theater for education and intervention with groups at risk in Malaga.

The Sunday, the festival chooses as stage the Parque de la Paloma for attendees to enjoy the  Art of Surprise and cirquence  show that it will offer Jarrón Club, an association from Malaga that has, among its main lines of action, the realization of the inclusive and social circus. This artistic collective has developed circus activities with groups with functional diversity or in homes for the elderly, transcending this discipline to turn it into a transformative tool. This activity will start at 12.00 hours.

In the evening, at 21.00 hours, Chagüei will offer a concert at the Vinyl bar. This emerging band comes from the Malaga neighborhood of Palo. It is a trio that fuses flamenco, folklore and pop.

On  Monday, at 11.00 am, in the  historic center in Benalmádena Pueblo, the multidisciplinary artist, co-creator  of the Association of Artisans of Priego de Córdoba and coordinator of several creativity workshops since 1998,  Merche L. Valdivia will promote a participatory urban installation, within the low relief sculpture.

In the evening, at 9:00 p.m., the Kim pub   will be the scene of the fusion of  music and humor, which will come from the hands of Jesús Arenas, director of the Castilla-La Mancha Humor Festival, who has performed on stages throughout Spain alongside the most renowned comedians from within and outside the country.

The Tuesday, at 12.00 at the Castle El Bil Bil, the poet and anthropologist Ángel Arenas will read the artists’ manifesto for the SDGs with piano accompaniment. Arenas is a creative who has made interventions in more than 40 countries and is also a consultant for several international agencies and director of the Artists For SDGs platform.

At night, the music will regain prominence with the concert, at 9 pm, at the Vinyl bar  El Manin,  a street poet and versatile artist. Sing, dance and even do beatbox and accompanies artists like him on their tours KankaIzalRozalenEl niño de la Hipoteca o Mr. Kilombo.

On  Wednesday the 8th, the last day of this complete festival, at 11:00 am, the  Félix Solesio square  will witness a quick  painting contest  that will focus on biodiversity.

In the afternoon, the festival travels to the  Plaza de la Mezquita, where starting  at 5:00 p.m., a  flash mobwill take place,  organized   and in which associations from Benalmádena will participate.

The finishing touch to the festival will be the music. At 8:00 pm in the Plaza de La Mezquita, the Málaga  band  The executives  will delight those present with a concert for biodiversity.
