The IES Benalmádena receives its eTwinning diplomas and Ambassador Schools of the European Parliament 2021

The mayor of Benalmádena, Víctor Navas; and the Councilor for Education, Pablo Centella, visited the IES Benalmádena to participate in the delivery to its students of the diplomas of the international education programs eTwinning The Green, eTwinning TeamNational and European Quality Seal, and Schools Ambassadors of the European Parliament 2021.

In the words of the mayor, “these distinctions demonstrate the dynamism, intellectual concern and innovation of our educational community: we congratulate the students, teachers and directors of the center for their academic successes.”

For his part, the Councilor for Education, Pablo Centella, valued that “the diplomas that we deliver today certify the commitment of IES Benalmádena and its students to educational innovation, the opening of ideas and approaches and dialogue with other centers.”

eTwinning is an EUinitiative to promote contact, exchange of ideas and collaboration between teachers and students through the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).

Specifically, only two educational centers in the province of Malaga have accessed the European Parliament Ambassador Schools (EPAS) program this year, an initiative to promote knowledge of the EU, Europe and European democracy.

The IES Cerro del Viento, eTwinning 2020

It should be remembered that on April 21, an event was held at the IES Cerro del Vientowhere the work of a group of 50 students  and teachers was recognized in their distinction of European quality seal eTwinning 2020 by the Active Green Alliance project ‘. In addition, the event served to present the IES Cerro del Viento as an eTwinning center, a recognition that it has recently achieved for the next academic year.

The project carried out by this institute, which has aimed to exchange good practices in the field of education, received the distinction through the Central Support Service of the European Schoolnet, an international association made up of the European Ministries of Education.

Thus, the project obtained an excellent score in the evaluation of pedagogical innovation and development of quality educational products. The European School Association has produced an Environmental Dictionary, a Digital Green Monopoly, and a joint book of Local Legends, which are available to the European educational community.

The Quality Seals are a great recognition to the students and their schools for the high value of their projects. As stated on its official website by this Benalmadense institute, for the life of the school these projects represent an innovative proposal that motivates in a special way the way of working collaboratively.

The European Commission recognizes eTwinning as an essential platform to achieve necessary improvements in increasing cooperation between educational centers, cultural enrichment, increased motivation of students, and especially the development of key competences, such as the use of digital writing and design tools, or improving English. The eTwinning platform is a good example of the evaluative culture of teaching-learning processes, since it carries out evaluations that measure the repercussion and impact of the projects developed.
