The Benalmádena Table Tennis Club has organized together with the Málaga Table Tennis Delegation (FATM), the II Provincial Table Tennis League concentration. Due to the works being carried out at the Arroyo de la Miel sports center, it had to be carried out in the training venue located in the IES IBN Albaytar gym.
With the help of the material resources of IES IBN Albaytar and the Sports Area of the Benalmádena City Council, it was possible to meet the necessary equipment: referee tables, chairs, fences that had to be moved from the Arroyo de la Miel Pavilion and especially cover the windows of the gym so that the sun dazzled the players as little as possible. The human resources for mounting and dismounting and the arbitrations were provided by members of the Club on a completely voluntary basis.
Eight large playing fields were set up, with two corridors where the benches could be placed.
Five female teams participated, six teams in 2nd prov group 1, six teams in 2nd prov group 2, and 11 teams in 3rd prov. At an average of three players per team,there are approximately 84 players who enjoyed table tennis in this second concentration. Always accompanied by delegates and coaches from the different clubs, coming from all over the province: Rincón de la Victoria, Vélez-Málaga, Cártama, Málaga capital, Fuengirola, Mijas and Marbella.
Regarding the participation of local teams, the following participated:
-One in the Provincial Women’s League “Benalmádena No Pasa Nada” composed of Bianka, Jane, Irene and Isa, who won the 5 games they played and placed first in the classification of this category.
-One in second province, “Benalmádena Submarino Amarillo”, made up of Juanma, Toni, Tomás and Javier who won two games and lost one, placing third in group two in the classification of 2nd Prov.
-Two in the third province, “Benal Ping Pong”, made up of José Francisco, Ethan, Lukas, Alejandro who won one game and lost two, but highlighting Alejandro’s debut, which has only been a short time, but shows good form for this sport and that already won a game. They are placed tenth in the classification.
– “Teens Titan”, made up of Alexis, Mario, Joshua and Lukas who won two games and lost one, placed fifth in the standings tied on points with second, third and fourth.
The day passed without incident, only the enjoyment and laughter of the little ones who flooded the IES IBN Albaytar gym with joy.
During the rally there was a visit by the provincial table tennis delegate, Pilar Frías; and the Councilor for Sports of the Benalmádena City Council, Joaquín Villazón.
