The Junta invests more than 290,000 euros in the rehabilitation of the Gardens of the Wall of Benalmádena Pueblo

The Junta de Andalucía has awarded Benalmádena a subsidy of 290,540 euros that is part of the Munitur line, destined to the Andalusian tourist municipalities and with which the City Council will be able to carry out therehabilitation of the Gardens of the Wall of César Manrique in Benalmádena Pueblo.

The mayor, Víctor Navas, this morning held a meeting with the territorial delegate for Tourism of the Junta de Andalucía in Malaga, Nuria Rodríguez, in which the receipt of this subsidy was confirmed, which will make it possible to value one of the places most emblematic of Benalmádena Pueblo.

For her part, Nuria Rodríguez, has indicated that what the Junta de Andalucía intends with these subsidies “is to strengthen tourist attractions in order, among others, to achieve seasonal adjustment”. The amount of this aid will fully pay for the project in the Jardines del Muro, a natural viewpoint with panoramic views of the municipality that even encompass its coastal area.

As explained by the territorial delegate, “we offer these subsidies to tourist municipalities that we understand have a greater flow of tourists and at the same time, they have to make a greater economic effort in order to help them and that we continue to offer a quality destination.”

Likewise, Rodríguez stressed that “we will continue working as a team –in reference to the City Council- because it is clear that the tourism industry is one of the strongest, it generates employment and wealthand it is showing that it is the one that is helping us to get out of the crisis caused by the covid ”.

For its part, the mayor pointed out that another aspect discussed with the territorial delegate has been the need for the Consistory to know which are the houses for tourism purposes that exist in the municipality and also, Navas has requested that from the Junta facilitate Benalmádena’s access to the new tourism sustainability plans, “whose objective will be to complete the completion of the Albaytar park, called to be the great green lung of the Costa del Sol”.
