If today Saturday you are going to buy an antigen test at a pharmacy, you will be amazed at its price and not by high, but on the contrary. As of today, January 15, these tests will have a maximum cost of 2.94 euros, a decision adopted unanimously within the Interministerial Commission on Drug Prices (CIPM), which was officially published yesterday Friday in the Official State Gazette (BOE) and which comes into force today.
The criteria for setting this price have been limited to the cost of antigen tests in other countries, as well as the sale price of pharmacy office distributors, the profit margin that medical devices usually have. and the retail price.
“The objective has been to set a price that is as affordable as possible, always maintaining the necessary balance so that the product is available in the pharmaceutical channel,” indicated the Ministry of Health.
