The Councilor for Sports, Joaquín Villazón, reported today on the agreement signed between theArroyo de la Miel 222 Olympic Shooting Club and the Benalmádena Chess Club. The agreement consists in that the Shooting Club gives the gallery to the Chess Clubfor the celebration of its tournaments, in exchange for which the chess players will provide their support and help for the activities of the other sports club.
In the words of the councilor of the area, “both are two very emerging sports in the municipality: chess always worked very well in Benalmádena, but it had a long hiatus of inactivity until a few years ago the new president, Daniel Hidalgo, returned to carry out the activity, and the club has been rising for three years in a row and is now in the Division of Honor ”.
Along these lines, he has pointed out that “more important than the results is the great quarry that this chess club is creating, a sport that we encourage children and parents to practice due to the great intellectual benefits it brings”.
In the same way, Villazón has highlighted that the importance of this agreement is “to verify the good harmony and collaboration between these two sports clubs, joining forces to find the best solutions” and has thanked the presidents of both clubs for the work they are doing to promote these sports in the city.
According to the presidents of the sports clubs, respectively, “due to the anticovid security restrictions established by the Federación Andaluza, we needed a larger venue to guarantee the distance measures in accordance with the current situation “, and they have also highlighted that this agreement” serves for small clubs like us to help each other, and for us to get to know better the sport of the other clubs with which we collaborate ”.
