The students of ‘Benemplea Includes’ participate in two workshops on skills for employment

In the context of the Good Practices Mentor Red Includes of the AP-POEFE project No. 8 “Benemplea Includes”, co-financed by the Benalmádena City Council and by the European Social Fund, it has counted on the collaboration of the ARRABAL-AID Association of Málaga. Specifically, Javier García Santos, the entity’s employment technician, has given two editions of a workshop on Employment Skills, to the students of the Auxiliary Activities courses in Nurseries, Gardens and Garden Centers and Cleaning of Surfaces and Furniture in Buildings and Local.

ARRABAL-AID is a non-profit social association that has been working for more than 25 years for the full social and labor incorporation of people, especially the most vulnerable. It offers permanently a series of services and programs in the field of training, employment and social participation to meet the needs of people.

Throughout its first 25 years of experience, Arrabal has received awards and recognitions for its work from public administrations, private companies, business organizations and citizen associations, on 26 occasions.

The workshop developed has consisted of two different sessions. In the first, the short oral presentation for the job search has been worked on. The students have learned to prepare a presentation that summarizes their professional career and that clearly includes their professional objective and their technical and personal skills.

The second part of the workshop has focused onworking on the Teamwork competence, a basic transversal competence that is required in any type of work. The final group reflection has allowed all the participants to become aware of what role they assume in the work teams, identifying their competencies and, also, the improvements that they should incorporate.

With this contribution from Arrabal-Aid, there are already 19 collaborators who have participated in the 21 mentorships that have already been developed within the Good Practices Mentor Red Includes and in which 196 beneficiaries have participated.

Currently two more mentoring programs are planned and a presentation session of these good practices will be held next February, concluding the mission of MENTOR RED INCLUDES: “To include, through the transmission of knowledge and experiences, the beneficiaries of the itinerary, in the labor market at the hands of professionals and businessmen”, according to municipal sources.
