The improvement and expansion works of the Anica Torres active participation center in Arroyo de la Miel, -in which it has exceeded one million euros of investment-, are facing their final stretch. This has been stated by municipal sources who have stressed that “we are aware that many have the perception that they are taking a long time, but any major work usually takes between a year and a year and a half, and this project will finally be executed in 10 months”.
After a one-month hiatus due to a modification caused by the appearance of damp, and the usual stop in August due to the holidays of construction workers, the work has already been carried out at 75%, and the forecast of the local government is that they are finished at the end of October.
“We have a month ahead of us for the finishes, plastering, and carpentry, with which we consider that the work will be completed in due time and form”, has estimated the mayor, Víctor Navas, who did not hesitate to predict that it will be erected as “one one of the best centers in the province ”.
Regarding the improvement works, he commented that “it is a very functional action, adapted to the environment and made with the most advanced, and of the best quality, construction materials, providing our elders with a much larger space for recreation and leisure. , bright and pleasant, thus attending to the increase in users in recent years ”.
For her part, the Councilor for Urbanism and Buildings, María Isabel Ruiz, recalled that, in addition to the elevation of the new plant, the expansion works of the center Anica Torreswill also include on the ground floor the creation of a new patio of light, of Japanese inspiration and with the planting of an olive tree.
