They ask that the exemption from the occupancy rate for terraces also apply in 2021

The Association of Merchants and Entrepreneurs of Benalmádena (ACEB) and the Benalmádena Open Commercial Center Association (ACCAB) have requested the Benalmádena City Council to exempt the Public Road Occupancy rate for terraces also for this year, or a reduction proportional to the restrictions suffered throughout this year. The association has been collecting for weeks the discomfort of the hospitality establishments of the municipality, which are verifying that the rate is being charged in full in this 2021.

The president of ACEB and vice president of ACCAB, Rosa María González Rubia, recalled that “already in April of last year 2020, the ACEB requested the suppression or reduction of certain tax burdens on commerce and companies in order to provide them with the necessary liquidity to face the situation we are experiencing ”and added that“ in this year 2021, the terraces of the hospitality establishments have been suffering various restrictions in terms of hours and capacity, from closing at 6:00 p.m. to a reduction of capacity to 50% of his capacity. For this reason, we consider that the Benalmádena City Council should not collect the entire tax pertaining to an occupation that has not been complete this year 2021 ”.
