The City Hall will distribute more than 2,000 pots, of geraniums and gitanillas, in the center of Arroyo de la Miel, in Benalmádena Pueblo, and in some emblematic places of Benalmádena Costa, “with special emphasis on those streets of the town that have always had the tradition of adorning their facades with plants and flowers”, to encourage residents and merchants to collaborate in the beautification of the municipality for the start of the tourist season.
The mayor, Víctor Navas, stated that “the Mediterranean aesthetic of many corners of our city lends itself to this type of decoration during the spring months and, based on this small detail offered by the corporation, we want to encourage the neighbors themselves to contribute to conserving and maintaining our streets decorated and embellished for the tourist season”.
After the distribution by shops, some 500 pots will be reserved for neighbors to collect them for free to decorate their balconies, and in the coming days the distribution points for the removal of pots will be detailed.
The first mayor recalled that during last Christmas “we were distributing poinsettias to decorate our streets, and now we reinforce this invitation to neighbors and merchants to collaborate in beautifying the streets with this new distribution in spring”.
