From the Local Police of Benalmádena it is reported the recovery of one of the three stands for stray cats that were recently stolen from public roads. The recovery has occurred thanks to a coordinated intervention between the Local Police of Benalmádena and the Local Police of Torremolinos, after receiving a call from a private individual alerting them to the presence of one of the booths in a pet shop in the neighboring municipality.
After the call, the Benalmádena Local Police requested the collaboration of Torremolinos Local Police officers to verify the veracity of the facts. In an inspection of the establishment, they verified that the store booth corresponded to one of the stolen ones.
The Benalmádena City Council began last March the installation of a total of 113 houses for stray cats, investing a total of 32,000 euros in this initiative, which arose from a proposal from the Benalmádena Animalist Group (GAB) presented in the Participatory Budgets.
In mid-April, the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Pablo Centella, reported on the theft of three of these booths.
After the recovery of the stolen booth, the agents of the Local Police have filed a complaint in the courts so that the corresponding proceedings can be taken.
