They will invest 2.7 million in renovating buildings and houses that are more than three decades old

The Ordinary plenarysession has ratified today, approving it unanimously, the collaboration agreement between the Ministry of Development, Infrastructures and Spatial Planning of the Junta de Andalucía and the City Council for the Promotion of Urban Regeneration and Renovation in Arroyo de la Miel, a call to which only three cities in the province of Malaga (Marbella, Benalmádena and Malaga) have attended.

The urban renewal plan for Benalmádena will be endowed with 2,738,000 euros, which will benefit a group of 350 homes, and which will be financed by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda 50% (1,359,000 euros), the Junta de Andalucía will contribute 20% (575,000 euros) and the City Council 15% (405,000 euros), the remaining 15% corresponding to individuals themselves.

The aid will go to individuals and communities of owners, and include accessibility works, construction of elevators, insulation and air conditioning of homes, installation of broadband and communication networks or the elimination of asbestos, among other actions.

Regarding the areas of action to which this agreement gives rise, they will be urban spaces already consolidated in Arroyo de la Miel,with houses over 30 years old, which require a significant investment to adapt them to the new circumstances and construction regulations .

Specifically, the actions will focus on the area of ​​Carranque, Bajondillo, Bonanza, Alegranza, the Arroyo de la Miel and Zodiaco fairgrounds.

In the opinion of the mayor, Víctor Navas, “it is an important help included in our housing plan: we work with an eye to the medium and long term, not only with this plan for the regeneration of private homes, but also with other initiatives such as the land capture bag, which we will take out in the coming months; the housing acquisition exchange for social rental or the line of subsidies to promote long-term residential rental ”.

Three-year validity

The plan will be valid for three years: 2022, 2023 and 2024. “We ask neighbors and communities of owners to be attentive to the opening of the call, which predictably It will take place at the beginning of next year, with the idea that all the dwellings defined in the aforementioned geographical area can participate in order to improve and rehabilitate the already consolidated urban spaces ”, Navas explained.

In fact, the mayor and the Councilor for Urbanism, María Isabel Ruiz, already held a first meeting at City Hall with representatives of communities of property owners and administrators of estates to inform them about these grants, providing them with information on the steps that may be carried out prior to the imminent opening of the call.

The plan will cover some 22 buildings and 276 homes, and will have an execution period from 2022 to 2024,and from Participación Ciudadana will inform farm administrators and community presidents about the requirements and execution of the works.
