The protests against the suppression of Cercanías trains in Málaga by Renfe due to the lack of drivers, continues tomorrow at the María Zambrano station, next to the Vialia. TheGeneral Confederation of Labor (CGT) -Andalucía has proposed that the demonstration does not go unnoticed and taking advantage of the proximity of the Christmas holidays, it has proposed to mount an authentic living Nativity scene inRenfe, in which the protesters will be characterized and where they will not be missing the animals, according to Ole Benalmádena. In addition, they will also feature traditional Christmas carols, specifically a compilation of some thirtycreated especially for the occasion by the Pastoral de la Estación de Bobadilla, which will enliven the event with their songs.
Thedemonstration will depart at 11:30 am from the esplanade of the Barceló hotel, passing through Héroes de Sostoa street until it reaches the Vialia gate, where they will stage the traditional Christmas Nativity scene.
With this new act of protest, the trade unionists want to return to denounce “the railway emergency that we suffer in Málaga“, and by way of performance, they intend to serve as public awareness so that “togetherwe join our forces to prevent the dismantling of the public railway service,as is already the case in the Ronda and Antequera regions ”.
Currently, there are more than 3,500 commuter trains suppressed since the beginning of the year, and if the daily suppressions continue, according to CGT calculations, it will be reached by December 31, “a whopping 4,696 rail services eliminated only in Cercanías” , all of them Public Service Obligation (OSP).
It should be remembered, as advanced Ole Benalmádena, that the union already filed a complaint with the Málaga Prosecutor’s Office for the “indiscriminate and arbitrary suppression of 34 daily trains and also before the Social Court for the substantial modification of working conditions that this implies, -being both on track-, in addition, to inform the Labor Inspectorate of different illegal actions of RENFE with respect to railway workers for breach of labor regulations ”.
The next demonstrationwill take place this Sunday, December 5, at 12 noon, in the Plaza de La Nogalera, in front of theTorremolinos station, currently under construction and inaccessible for people with reduced mobility.
The next one is scheduled for December 12 at 11.30 am in Fuengirola. The act will begin in the fuengiroleño town hall, from where the protesters will move in its northern part (where the zoo is) to the railway station. Thus, the official route will be as follows: Camilo José Cela street, Juan Gómez Juanito avenue and Jesús Santos Rein promenade, ending in a concentration in front of the Cercanías.
